Not gonna lie, it's getting tiring to see episodes where people try to make Homer cheat on Marge. He's not going to do it, but these kinds of episodes still happen.

They only have a house, an emmy, have traveled to almost every marketable country on Earth, husband has gone off to space, they have trekked darkest Africa together, escaped countries side by side and survived multiple attempts on their life by mafia and yakuza hitmen...

Like, simpsons writers, you have to admit both Marge and Homer have experienced more adventurous and romantic things in their life than most people ever will.

This type of story doesn't work, because they have already gone through thick and thin. I also don't like how they make Marge seem kinda selfish, over-emotional and unlikable in this episode.

Marge is the woman who was surprised there existed exotic spice called oregano. She is down-to-earth woman and grounding force to Homer's emotional outbursts and wild imagination. She is not looking or demanding for some grand romantic overtures, but everyday appreciation.

This is why best Homer-Marge conflicts happen because Homer takes Marge for granted, or does not understand Marge has desire or ambition beyond simple home-making for her own friends or artistry.

I genuinely cannot think a way that could drive a wedge between those two without fundamentally changing their characters.
