I Forged a Sacred Empire... in the Name of Christ! | EU4: Post Finem

My buddy Chewy created an awesome mod for EU4, and it's only getting bigger and better! In a world where Carthage defeated Rome in the Punic Wars, some centuries later, Christianity remains an obscure religion against the dominance of Greek Hellenism. But that's about to change. By word or by sword, the message of Christ SHALL be spread throughout the world under the banner of Heliopolis!

While I agree with the assumption of the mod that Christianity wouldn't be as widespread, I still think it should be in some other locations. It was spread by Jews who came to the Passover from all over Europe and Asian and then taken back by them. It was also spread by word of mouth and without a unified Roman oppression some smaller nations might have become followers of it. Armenia becoming the first Christian nation in our time would likely still have that occur. Also, for example, the Ethiopia region ought to have at least some provinces if not nations in it that follow the Christian faiths as it adopted the religion almost right away and wasn't as affected by Roman influence in the same way as Asia Minor and Europe, possible even represented by a different version of it in the mod. In fact, a lack of Roman persecution might make it spread more quickly and take root in smaller nations or communities, though it would also mean that it wouldn't become a dominate religion because the Roman Empire wouldn't become Christian. The mod is very interesting, and I hope it keeps getting expansions.

It would be interesting if you continued this gameplay and made the Red Sea into the Lake of Christ.😆

Deus vult!

Okay, so it wouldn’t be that, given that’s Latin…

Apparently ‘Θέλημα Θεού’ is the best translation.

So there seems to be even more logical leaps that are missing for this scenario. No powerful Rome, means no Roman occupation of the lands of Judea. Which means the figure of Christ is entirely altered, with there being no Pontius, there being no crucifixion, and no Streisand effect boosting of the Christian cult which flung off from Judaism. Could a Christ like figure have formed to oppose the strict form of Judaism? Yes, but the events following would be entirely different.
Unless this also supposes that Carthage beat Rome, and then... the Greeks just did the exact same things that Rome did? Despite the Hellenic faith, and Hellenic culture, operating entirely differently from the Latins.
I'm sure the mod is fine but, how did this get to this point again? Seems like they just wanted a very minor Christian nation for the fun of it, rather than thinking it out.

This mod seems really poorly thought out. Lots of inconsistencies.

*The Roman Empire falls early, so Christianity never gets its time in the spotlight.*
Ah, yes. The Good Ending for Europe.
