I think the problem of gaming industry now are not for new console or graphic cards but optimization

We don't ps6 dude, we just need dev to optimization they game

Played the demo on my PC on max settings, graphics are good but not groundbreaking, there’s no reason for this not to be 60 fps stable on current gen consoles

we don't need new console we need good games

Have to disagree. Its clear this games poorly optimized. But sure lets have Sony sell us some expensive PS5 pro or ps6 that games will still be poorly optimized for. Because developers have gotten extremely lazy.

Sounds more like it's time for studios to properly polish and optimize their games before rushing to launch 🤷‍♂️

That’s why they should use a 40fps cap. I have no idea why devs aren’t doing this.

This is why I miss the 360/ps3 era, developers optimized games for the consoles to balance constraints like file size, graphics, and frame rates. Nowadays devs are lazy and give us poorly optimized 100GB+ garbage.

These devs don’t understand we don’t want the most realistic graphics lol we just want a decent graphics and an amazing game

It's an optimisation problem. Developers dont really care about performance anymore as they see it as a problem that can be solved later with patches

Why are they optimizing the xbox series x so shittily? Its more powerful yet the ps5 has better framerates? Like dude what the fuck. They are being lazy as hell.

People are forgetting that for many years consoles were limited to 30fps, how do you think they are so affordable compared to a pc, until the next generation when AI tools are implemented, good graphics, resolution and 60fps will rarely be able to happen at the same time, with the current tools, you can only choose 2 of those 3 at a time, unless it is a console exclusive with optimization for a single sku

Devs are relying too much on DLSS and FSR to help their games run well. Its a cop out. I've noticed any new game on PC will run terribly without DLSS for me.

used to be that pc gaming was left in the dust with some games having optimisation issues, ah how the tables have turned

Maybe the devs are doing a shitty job? We hear this shit over and over again, year after year. Yet it seems like the more recourses the new generation of consoles provide, the more we hear about how these same consoles are struggling. Na, these dev companies are just putting out unoptimized games

I've played the demo version. It wasn't 60FPS when I was playing but it was also in 1080p. I haven't tried in 4K but I'd like to see if it's 60FPS in 4K without any frame drops. I like this game.

The Series S version is perceptually smoother, showing that if you are well south of 60 fps, it's way better to target a locked 30 fps, rather than have an inconsistent mess.

And no, I don't believe it's time for more powerful consoles. These consoles are hardly being fully utiized. That's evident by examining other games that are tuned for much tighter frame-time budgets than seen in the example given, AND the constant performance improvements being made to engines like Unreal Engine 5.

Current consoles have been off to a frustratingly slow start(can also blame the slow development of next-gen game engines), but it's a mistake to think that we're seeing anywhere close to their full potential. Even GTA 6 will only have represented Rockstar's first major attempt at developing on these consoles. Think of how much they'd have learned during that time, allowing them to push the hardware even further on their second/third attempt. That's how it goes.

This is gonna sound so goofy but the difference between 30fps and 45fps is actually crazy noticeable.

they should learn how to optimize a game from rockstar

Its not a hardware problem it's a dev optimization problem and a company problem for overworking and underpaying devs and in many cases treating them like crap, remeber how great the games at end of the xbox 360 and ps3 era looked? Devs managed to get every last bit of power on those consoles and many of those games still hold up today especially if you simply boost their resolutions to a base of 1080p or even 1440p and give them 60fps they feel refreshing to pkay, in the case of this game way better more demanding looks games have been released even on last gen and those games don't have these problems.
