There are many reasons for amputation. Common in the Philippines are road accidents and diabetes. For Jacques' case is cardiovascular: thrombosis, peripheral arterial disease and aortic abdominal aneurysm. For him to survive from sepsis that was spreading rapidly last 2018, his leg needed to be amputated for him to live.
