The terminology adopted as hypnosis by neurosurgeon James Braid, has had an outstanding participation in the world of psychology, especially from the 19th century, when it is understood as the state of altered consciousness, which is induced by another person, who is in charge of initially suggesting and directing said process; highlighting that according to the Dorland’s Medical Dictionary, a state of sleep is not generated but rather one of intense concentration, as was considered in the first place.

In psychology, hypnosis allows investigating the underlying problems in the individual's unconscious, since depending on the technique implemented, the individual can listen and respond, with which the therapist will have the ability to identify any trauma or specific situation, so that they can apply the appropriate techniques to overcome a personal problem or conflict.

What does it mean to be induced by hypnosis?
The specialist during its application, is normally in charge of generating changes at the sensory, perceptual, cognitive level and even on its own motor behavior.

This state does not mean entering a total trance, since the individual can exit and enter, without even being hypnotized. Just as it happens when we are in front of a broken television screen, but at the same time it works, at first it can be annoying, then we just ignore it and it can get out of the visual field, as all the attention is focused on seeing what happens in television, omitting its exterior.
