Great review. Brief, to the point, yet getting all the points across. Underrated channel. 👍

Fun Fact you can actually get a 400w and 500w psu for these pcs the only downside is that you have to get them from hp and they are 100 and 130$ respectively but if you get the 500w psu you can put up to a 3060ti in here using the 1 8pin connector. you can also find the power supply's on eBay but they are more expensive . the version of this PC i have has a 4tb HDD 256gb ssd boot 16gb of ram and the ryzen 7. another note is the Ethernet port is of very high quality if you get a good enough cable you can get up to 1gb per second download speed. In my opinion this is a great pc and with the psu upgrade it can compete with some 2k$ computers it just needs a little love to get it to that point. if anyone is reading this i hope you find this info useful because it took me a year to figure all of this out. 😁 (EDIT: I also forgot to mention the cooler is actually quite good the heat sink is always cool to the touch and i get about 30c normally and 40c under load so heat is not an issue at all. and you can also lower the temp even more by leaving the side panel off it gets great airflow for the whole system the only downside to that is you will have to clean your system more often because the dust will build up faster.)

Bro this channel is so underrated for how good it is

HP, hands down, has the worst possible proprietary power solution for their prebuilds, like it cannot get more predatory than this.

I have this pc and want to buy another 8 gb stick for it. For it to work, I would have to buy a matching pair then? I was thinking about buying the crucial one you showed, but I dont wanna risk it not working...

The weirdo fan config is a real jerk move on HP!
Since prebuilt screw you on upgrades I always assume I will have to upgrade it myself.

I bought this exact unit when it went on sale at Best buy for $489 here locally. I slapped 16GB of 3200 Crucial. I didn't know about the 'other number' but it must have been right, because benchmarks show it as running at 3200. I don't have any stress test tools, so I don't know about the throttling, but No Man's Sky and FFXIV work flawlessly on Medium/High settings at 1080p So... Hey, it works great for me! lol

Hi, great video, what testing software do you use? Thanks

Can secure boot be turned off in the bios? I'd like to try Linux instead of Windows on the box.

For my build, HO disables the iGPU. Only the discrete is enabled and you can't do anything about it. In that case, the stock cooler is sufficient

So with the upgrade to 16gb. Would you recommend it for video editing?

The 4650GE appears to support quad channel memory. Have you ever considered running that setup with 4 sticks?

What stopped them from configuring it as 2x4GB?

I've got the same series unit but its the Intel build... the thing I hate about these units is that HP uses a "Custom" motherboard that can't be changed out. and the new chassis are just too basic... plus they use a slim DVD drive that works in a laptop... all these prebuilts are made with the minimum specs to get you started... I had my friend give me another stick of 4GB DDR4 to get my system running right... on yours, another 8GB would be great for you if the system is just being used for basic home use. no overclocking... but personally, if someone gave me that tower, I'd probibly scrap it out and use the processor, memory, and other parts in a new build... Both DELL and HP are making "Custom" systems that can't be easily upgraded to a regular system...(standard m-ATX MB)

Does it have a DVD player? Looks like it, but I don't see how to open.

HP needs to give me more VRAM! 512mb is not enough for my Linux.

Does an am4 cooler fit this board? Will the ryzen wraith cooler fit on it?
