Spiders bringing Mr Mikey Pipes Stacks! That guy didn't know what's all involved in the fix. He hired a guy qualified to find and fix a gas leak so his house doesn't blow up and provide peace of mind that everything is ok. Turns out to be an easy fix but it's only easy cause an expert was doing the work.

What most guys would say is " You need a new pool heater because your (heat exchanger/combustion chamber/gas valve is cracked and it's leaking dangerous gas into your backyard. You don't want your backyard to blow up do you?" So in reality you probably saved them $10, 000 by knowing that it probably is just cobwebs in the Jets. I've installed 100 gas boilers and I've seen them completely full of cobwebs rolling out but I've never seen the orifices clogged.

The spider are part of his employee payroll. They gotta get paid to. Lol it takes knowledge and experience to be able to quickly find this issue. Could have takin a hack hrs just to figure out what could be causing this essentially paying the same if not more for the diagnosis. Sometimes I stay for the whole hr so they think you did more then what was needed and just double check as much as I can

Are you going to attempt/film the second oil change on your 992? I have not found one video or website showing the oil change on a cabriolet 992. That engine cover blocks a ton of the operation. Wanted to watch someone do it before

You are not charging to clean up cobwebs. You are changing to fix gas leak. Before you came, there was a gas leak. After you left, there was no gas leak. Because of the work that you did. That is valuable. Simple.

Its not like these people who complain about calling you out for this had the slightest bit go wherewithal to try and dive in themselves and figure it out, why they are the ones that bitch I'll never know. I had a guy once, went out to his house to check on and probably change his central vac unit, he said the motor was dead and he needed a new one installed, and was ready to spend the $1300 for the service call/new machine. I get there and what I see is the dedicated outlet for this thing has a really cheap shitty 3 way plug splitter sharing the central vac plug with a surge protector. I pull the thing out, plug the central vac unit right into its outlet and suddenly it works again, guy was incredulous that this 2 minute fix cost him $189. He quit complaining when I pointed out, sort of how you did, that I came out, used my knowledge and experience to instantly see the issue, explain why it happened. educating the customer so this didn't happen again, tested all his inlets, and most importantly that I did not choose to just sell him a new machine, which I could easily have done if that's how my ethics were. That last one especially got him. He saved about $1000, just by paying me $189 to come to his house!
