It's so cool you guys are restoring this rare tank. It's the most anyone will see of this beast.

So used to seing this all pristine and freshly painted that the state of the dashboard was a bit of a shock. Shows how far you've come from where it started. Amazing.

Great progress for both vehicles. It is only when you see some of the old bits like the dashboard you realise how much work you guys have completed. Keeps us all looking forward to the next adventure!

"Bless you", after a sneeze used to have more significance than today. In paganism it was important to bless the person who had just expelled an evil spirit before they took their next breath and re-inhaled it. Lots of carry-overs into modern religion from these ancient times, another example being the presence of yew trees in Christian cemeteries

Looking and sounding great, nice job and great video as always . And as for the spilt oil, in true military style as when we used to take some of our Fire Engines to Air shows or shows ( of the vehicle variety ) . Some of our Fire Engines were painted in IRR green to go in the field ....so the big fire engine wasn't seen !!! or the noisy Harriers taking off in the woods !!! . Anyway as every thing in the Military has to shine, we used to brush diesel or oil on the IRR green to make it shine ? . Yes can you believe it and yes on VIP visits I have painted dead grass green !!!! . The MOD became broke because of the amount of paint that was used in making things look nice for VIP's we never saw . Military Madness .

It`s not a wire on that gauge, its a capilliary tube containing fluid which expands with a rise in temperature. This expansion causes a bourdon tube in the gauge to move the needle. I am 86 years old and back in the 1940s and 50s most cars had that sort of gauge including oil pressure. The tube was very easily broken. Oh happy days!!

1:16 the old type gauges are actually tiny pipes full of Ether (easy start) probably under some specific pressure

I think it's really cool your girlfriend likes to hang around you and help when you're working.

Glad you screwed down the RH air cleaner lid becasue it was having palpitations on that first start up .. 🤣
But what a long way the FE has come. Paint brushes to the fore in the driver's cockpit now ....

Nice one Mr. Hewes. It will be interesting to see how the Rover built? V12 behaves when the fuel tank is on. Certainly running poppy at both ends. Don't understand why Brits give Brit companies shit about their products? I'm always amazed how Smiths /Jaeger gauges still work after being left exposed to the weather for years on Land-Rovers, tractors & construction equipment.

Volume bucket would have been the thingy :o) Half a turn to pump, them back, then half a turn :o (many many times)
