My Perspective Episode 1-How to play bass drum

The drum height should be when you bring your forearms parallel to the ground your mallet is in the center of the head. That it the appropriate height. the perspective of the video makes it look weird but yes your mallets should be straight from the rim.

Live the videos! Keep'em coming. However I was wondering how high should the drum be to a person and at set position should the mallets be pointing straight up or straight with the rim? Because it might just be the angle of the shot but your sticks look to be at an angle.

It is a bit low but the drum is 16" and I am 6' 4". so it will always seem really low because the shell itsnt that tall.

Great video! I notice that you're using fairly small mallets. What do you recommend for drum sizes. I feel like the drummers in the line I direct use mallet that are too big: Innovative FB-1s for basses 1, FB-2 for 2, FB-3 for 3, FB-4 for 4 and 5. Any advice?

I bet it's nice you're not in a parade and you don't have to have it strapped to yourself because I have to tomorrow and I have horrible upper body strength
