City of London has been essentially trying to Balkanize Russia for hundreds of years now.

I remember when Georgia's Saakashvili fired on a Russian military base and when Russia responded in a measured way the NYT and other screamed "Russian aggression!" That was 2008. I also remember the NYT comment session was very much full of comments pointing out that Georgia had been the aggressor, but within a few weeks all the top comments were anti-Russia. It was so strange.

The hatred is disgusting. I was a Marine during the Cold War. We trained to fight the soviets, but I never hated them. Think of the works of art, literature, music, and scientific innovation that nation hasproduced. They are not our enemy.

The answer is very simple and it's the same answer as has always been: they cannot control Putin, so they cannot Russia's resources and that also means they cannot plunder it and limit its supply to its main enocomic rival i.e, China.

It's hard for American politicians to understand intelligence and integrity.

Possibly two more reasons:
1. Putin re-nationalized the Russian oil industry after taking his presidency in January 2000; he pressured Shell to hand over control in Sakhalin to Gasprom.
2. Putin also signed law banning GMO products in Russia on July 5, 2016; while Hillary Clinton was backing GMOs in 2014, she even hired Michael Crawford with strong ties to Monsanto to run her 2016 campaign.

My father was a German soldier on the Eastern Front and never came home, I had an uncle who was a 16 year old German soldier at Stalingrad, and I was born in a German city that was occupied by the Soviets till 1991, and I am appalled, saddened, and disgusted by our current hostility towards Russia.

Scott Horton is a fantastic guest. Why does anyone still think US and democracy have ever crossed paths? Thank you, Glenn, for providing nonstop, quality content.

Thank you, sirs, for video. Greetings from Russia. It's very gratifying to know that there are wise and honest people who are not afraid to speak the thruth.

I tend to think that if NATO doesn't have Russia to oppose, there's no reason for NATO. And if there's no NATO, there's no MIC.

The way we have treated the russian people since the fall of the soviet union is shameful, we wasted what may have been the greatest opportunity to unite the majority of the world's governments and reduce the risk of war for 100+ years.

Scott is probably the best commentator on all things war and peace. The guy knows everything, who wrote it, who published it, and when. Truly incredible.

President John F. Kennedy said at American University in Washington, D.C. on June 10, 1963: *“It is the most important topic on earth: world peace. What kind of peace do I mean? What kind of peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war. Not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace, the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living, the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and to build a better life for their children--not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women--not merely peace in our time but peace for all time.”*

Don't forget Russia's refusal to accept the Liberal social agenda and US anti-christian cultural imperialism.
