Creating my nano aquarium for aquatic plants #aquascape #aquaticplants #plantlovers

Plants:
Sagittaria ‘Chilensis’ Broadleaf
Red Phoenix Sword plant
Jungle Val (Vallisneria)
Green Cabomba
Red root floater
One lotus seed

This is a 4 gallon Ultum rimless aquarium and in it I have 3 mystery snails and 2 Japanese trap door snails

I used Dragon stone, Aquatic soil, and aquatic sand to cover for the base.

Many items I bought from my local aquatic store but you can find items linked in my amazon storefront.

I wanted to be sure I felt comfortable before introducing more “aquatic life” into this tank. Testing water, getting my PH, Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate, For something this small, I started with snails. I may incorporate shrimp or tiny tetras at some point.

*As a disclaimer, please do your research on the care of the tank size you would like to use. Not only did I research online but I also used the guidance from my local aquatic store as well.

You should add some cherry shrimp to your tank. They love planted ones and basically feed off of algae. They’re very low maintenance!

My dad was OBSESSED with planted aquariums. We had a huge aquarium growing up filled with lilies, Madagascar fern, all kinds of plants, beautiful shrimps, snails, tetras, eels, etc

For a starter tank, I like getting either a feeder goldfish, one betta or a couple feeder guppies, it feels like I’m saving them and it doesn’t feel as bad if they don’t make it.. The guppies have cute babies and do well with snails.

Put a lid on that thang! I left my lid slightly open once and my poor female snail went on a little adventure. She was ok because I caught her in time, but snails like to roam! They also like to lay their eggs on the lid. I use a plexi glass piece that I cut to accommodate for my heater and filter :) beautiful tank!

You could honestly buy an air pump and a small mini sponge filter and itll keep your water very clean i recommend a liquid fertilizer and root tabs. Mistery snails will eat certain plants (most usually) pest snails are somewhat better than mystery snails but then you neer assasin snails to keep the pest snails under control. Id recommend dropping some fish food in there for the snails or else your plants may be munched on 😭 (my experince)

Haha, once you have one, you always want a bigger one or more! I've been in the aquatic hobby for years. And recently got into plants, thanks to your videos. I have a jungle alongside my tanks ❤
