It was historic, it was epic, and it was a massive success.!

Watching the booster returning to its 'home' will never get old. Once they can repeat it time and time again, then we are really at the races! An historic moment.

The "science and technology expert" doesn't know that the reason SpaceX did this was to eliminate legs on the booster, which reduces weight and increases payload capacity.

Dan Riskin had it sort of right, sort of wrong: The reason for the chopsticks is because a landing system on a booster that heavy would weigh 10+ tonnes. By not having a landing leg system attached to the ship, that means 10 additional tonnes of payload can be put up in orbit.

I say 10 tonnes, i am pulling the number out of the air. But basically the weight not spent on a landing leg system means that weight can be added to the payload to orbit.

A building catching a building with complete precision it looked like art. But not only that this tech can be translated into catching asteroids for mining purposes, and also mining the rare metals and minerals on the moon, in a reciprocating and autonomous mechanism, he also has the Optimus robot that will be capable of doing anything, this is the beginning of the next generational leap in human technology.

It feels like we're living in a sci-fi world, with Elon Musk as a modern magician. SpaceX's Starship booster being caught by "Mechazilla" chopstick-like arms looks straight out of fiction!

This guy watches YouTube videos while he drives? That’s insanely stupid

For 'engineering reasons'? Dude, it doesn't have landing legs! Massive savings on weight means bigger payloads, so it has to land somehow, right? Hence the mech grabbers. It's all done for a weight savings. That's the 'engineering reasons' you mentioned but didn't actually clarify for viewers!

This clip missed the main implication. It was cool but, in the future, being able to ship this kind of volume into space will cut the per kg cost of getting materials to orbit by something like 100 times over the next decade. The economics of Starship will open up all kinds of space industry and applications that are impossible to consider with traditional, expendable hardware.

That booster alone is equivalent to 20+ storey building!!

And any complaints about the sonic boom the feds were so worried about???

*”**2:12**…and there’s a giant explosion and it’s really hard to tell that something went wrong.”*

I don’t know. I would think the fact that there was a giant explosion might be a decent clue. :)

Amazing, i cannot imagine the Engineering and all the mathematics behind doing this. Note the Rocket Landed its Self. Listen to the call out that it was programmed to return to the pad. Amazing.

Not Chopsticks but “Mechazilla Arms” LOL

Elon said this was a huge step and important challenge to overcome. He says that once this was achieved, we could have rockets going to mars and returning non stop as soon as one rocket leaves, one can land. He said it takes too long to transport a rocket from the ocean via the old way. This new method will allow for space airport where rockets come and go all day. Now he proved it’s possible and made it reality. So now he’s going to put money into building the infrastructure of the space airports. He said to begin with it will mostly be for transport of materials to mars and mining materials back from mars.
