Whether you're a complete beginner or just looking to refresh your skills, this series has everything you need to create your very own quilt with confidence.
In this five-part series, we’ll cover all the essential steps:
• Video 1: Learn how to piece your quilt top, selecting the perfect fabrics and arranging them into a beautiful design.
• Video 2: Discover the art of basting your quilt, ensuring your layers stay smooth and wrinkle-free.
• Video 3: Get creative with quilting techniques to add texture and personality to your quilt.
• Video 4: Find out how to trim your quilt and prepare your binding for a polished, professional finish.
• Video 5: Finally, learn how to attach your binding, completing your quilt with neat, secure edges.

Video 3: How to Quilt Your Quilt Quilting your quilt is where the magic happens! In this video, we’ll explore different quilting techniques, from straight-line quilting to free-motion designs. I’ll share tips on how to plan your quilting pattern, adjust your sewing machine settings, and practice before you start. Whether you’re a fan of simple stitches or want to try something a bit more creative, this video will help you quilt your masterpiece with confidence.
• Project: Lap quilt. Approximate size is 42.5" x 42.5"
• Materials:
○ Fabric
§ Quilt Top
□ 81 squares. Size 5" x 5"
® Easiest: use 2 precut charm packs. Charm packs come with 42 squares that are 5" x 5"
® Or Cut 81 squares from yardage or larger precut fabrics such as a fat quarter
§ Border
□ You will need 1/6 yard of material .
® We will end up cutting 4 strips that are 1.5 " x WOF
§ Batting
□ You will need batting that is at least 48" x 48"
- or -
® You can have your batting cut to size.
§ Backing
□ 2 5/6 yards of material.
® In Video 2, I will show you how to prepare the backing.
§ Binding
□ You will need 3/8 of a yard.
® You will cut 5 strips that are 2 1/2"
