Thats how i used to make it until someone told me to try it without adding the sugar. This method allows the alcohol to react with the natural sugars in the Sloes. Leave for 3 months, then make a syrup equal amounts of water and sugar heat until disolved, then add to the sloe gin to your prefered level of sweetness.
