This is a good introduction to "the problem". It didn't dawn on me at first, but the entire issue (at least in my case) was that the website had disabled the right-click functionality in their JavaScript. This suggested the correct counter-measure was to block the JavaScript that disabled my right-click! A quick search in the Firefox extensions page using the term "disable right click" yielded an extension named "Absolute Enable Right Click & Copy". Once installed, I returned to the offending page, and had my way with it. :)

I had to struggle a couple of times too until I actually got it. So what I did was, like Rob had instructed, went on to inspect and then elements which is where I struggled to find the jpeg image but when you hover over the code with your mouse u can actually see the image pop ups (I tried on asos) and all I then had to do was double click and the link will be perfectly copied . Open up a new tab, paste the link and voila!

Rob saved me a lot of cutting and chopping of screen shots so thank you !

If all else fails go to 'File' at the top of your web browser and select 'Save Page As' and save the web page in a Temporary folder then go to the directory where web page is saved, open the main files folder and find your image there.

There are 3 good Firefox Add-ons/extensions, that can do this job automatically (Can download all the images in a tab page). Those are: ◾ Download All Images BY Joe Ertaba / ◾ Batch Image Downloader BY Canapy / and ◾ Image Downloader BY Karl.

Doesn't work in a lot of situations. Most of which are just the ones you need it for.

I have a question, I'm trying to use a similar method to access an image but got the error message "not allowed, hot linking"
basically i inspected element. and went to the source tab on top, was able to find the page where the source was from the list on the left, but instead of showing the image on the right it was a wall of code, after going through it i found the 130th line or something having the info i need, basically a http:// link for the destination of the image. but when i try to go to that page it shows the error message instead of the picture. i think it's a newly implemented feature on the website as images 6months or older don't have this problem and i can open them using this method.
is there anything to be done?

Hi Rob, how does one ensure that the quality of the image isn’t diminished when saving it as a jpg, png, etc please?

are there any PC apps or browser extensions/plug-ins that will do this for you automatically? Gotta be.

I did “save image as” to an image I was gonna use for a new logo idea and then when I downloaded it and then when I would try to move it or throw it in the trash it said it was running in the “infrastructural shell” which freaked me tf out so I had to go to ransom.exe and end the task then delete it. Idk if that’s just an error or if it’s malware so I did try to scan for anything malicious but couldn’t find anything but then again I was just using Microsoft defender

this didn't work but someone in the comments said to try "elements" in developer tools and hover over text to see which link is the image. well that worked but the image was compressed for some reason. then as a last resort I tried looking in the "sources" tab and after opening some folders I found the full resolution version! (and the compressed one) so sources might also work if you look for a folder with a name that sounds like it could have images in it

Doesn't work with the site Fetlife (dont judge me!). Everything in the "Inspector" tab that opens when you click Ctrl+Shft+I, ends with a ".js" (java script I suppose). No image URL. Any ideas how to solve this issue? (I'm using the latest Firefox, April 2020. Thx
