I take it back. This project is amazing. We ordered a kit for my dad. It took approximately 3 months for the results. My dad is 30% native american and 30% meditteranean, and so on...We ordered a kit for mom. :)

There was no Phase Two offered when we purchased it. Everything promised in Phase Two was promised in Phase One. I feel like we got a 'bait and switch' and I NEVER expected to be disappointed with anything from National Geographic.

for long time it has been a shame for someone to be from an AFRICAN ORIGINS but thankfully the science proves that the HUMANITY HAD BEEN BORN BY AFRICA !!

If you're Southeast or East Asian of ANY ethnic, I'm going to tell you what your haplogroup is. It's O-M175. That's it. Very vague!

"Your branch of this lineage took part in the second wave of migration out of Africa to Asia. Your ancestors traveled to Southeast Asia. Some continued north into East Asia. The majority of these men traveled inland across what is now the south of China. From inland China, some traveled back toward the west into the northeast of the Indian subcontinent."

Oh darn, I wish I could participate in your second part, but I can't afford 199.95$. If it was around 100.00$ I would participate right away, but now I can't. Because for a woman, the first test didn't say much, so I was hoping that with the second test I could find more details... :-(

I think it is worth the money but I wish they would be honest on how long before you get your results. I have been waiting 11 weeks and still no results.

National Geographic I wish the kit were cheaper. 200 dollars is a month's pay or more in some countries.

Phase one was a basic marker series 12 25 36 67 and 111 hundred markers which would take you to about 2, 000 years ago maybe 4 Geno 2.0 is an extension of of that test with a new Geno chip that analyiss about 130, 000 new markers beyond that we have SNP'S AND STR results these are terminal markers these are where your lineage began on the human tree with your paternal/maternal side specifically for direct linages. So no you have not been shang highed

Did it also tell you the families name or just were they went?

Don't waste your money! We bought this for our son and the results were vague like we started in Africa. Yeah, everybody did. Then some of our line went to East Asia and some went West. Then the info stops. Oh, unless we want to buy Phase Two for $199. This was VERY disappointing.
