In this video we demonstrate the intuition and the lack thereof of intuition behind a proof. We utilize two methods to solving this problem; first we differentiate implicitly, and second we differentiate by using the definitions of the difference quotient and e. The derivative of ln(x) is quite beautiful in a mathematical sense. I would urge you all to not take the derivatives you're given at face value, and truly find the proof for what makes it work and really ponder what it means.
