A custom version of the song "Travelers" by Andrew Prahlow from the game Outer Wilds. Instruments fade in one at a time and play together (banjo, harmonica, flute, whistle, drums, piano).

This is the original 2019 version without the new instrument from the Echoes of the Eye DLC.

Things end. Sometimes beautifully, sometimes tragically, and sometimes anywhere in between. Sometimes its for the better. Sometimes its for the worse. But no matter what, all things come to an end. And that's okay. There's peace in accepting that. We are blessed with getting to exist on this journey, so just make sure to stop and smell the pine trees along the way.

100 trillion years from now, when the last star dies, I hope someone out there will sit around the last star in it's remaining days simply singing this song until the universe burns out.

I heard this once in-game, when I touched Dark Bramble in a weird way and was instantly flung several hundred kilometers away from the solar system.
The ship was toast, I didn't have meditation yet, so all I could do was wait, take out the signalscope, and listen.

I would attempt to sleep to this, but I think it would just make me emotional.

So instead, I will meditate. And before you know it....

Why do you play out here by yourself?
"Because no matter what someone is joining me in song"

This solidifies it. This is my favorite game ever made. I'm really not an emotional person, and hearing this was enough to bring me to tears. No other art can do that. This is something special.

I remember right after I beat the game, I thought, "Surely there's an upload on YouTube of all of the instruments playing together, because its length at the end of the game is way too short."

I'm glad to see everyone else felt the same way.

Never played outer wilds, never seen someone play it, never heard of it, got recommended this, love it before I have it.

I've played Outer Wilds for the first time recently and it's a game that (sadly) I would never forget. This song in particular, this song that in some way or another has always been there for you during all the entire game until the very end is something very special for me now, for all of us who had played this game. Every time I feel lonlely I will listen to this to remember that maybe not right there with me in that exact moment but somewhere there's a friend

Not gonna lie, the ending to this game hit me wayyyy harder than I thought it would and more than any game has done in a long time.

My first loop through Outer Wilds (Blind playthrough), I had fallen into the black hole without my ship after a long time of exploring. I found myself floating through space with not enough fuel to get back. Not that long after, while still floating and listening to the tunes through my scope, the sun began to explode. My game lags which delays the explosion from the music, so after a minute without the music, the sun exploded in silence with only the sound of explosion. Seeing the blue expand over the solar system from a distance until it took over my position was a very lovely first impression.

Although it sounds like a joke, the first colonists on mars seriously need to play this together lol

Soon after I had realised what the End Times music meant, despite knowing I'd just come back again. I was still scared, I felt compelled to find a traveller and stay with them. I remember being on Ember Twin with not long left, I instinctively followed Chert's signal. I sat round the campfire with him while I pointed my signalscope towards Brittle Hollow, I listened to Riebeck's banjo until my death. I don't know why I felt fear or why I was overcome with a need to not die alone, it was just a video game, but it didn't feel like that in the moment.

The only thing this song is missing is somebody humming along. When I listen to it I end up humming lyrics to the song that were never there. Humming to it makes it complete. I always know someone is joining me in song!
This is the only thing that can make me both smile and cry at the same time.

I remember being out of the ship, in the dark and lonely space, surrounded by thousands of stars, and there, in the darkness I was able to hear this song, I lost my ship and the oxygen was slowly decaying, it was beautiful, like if even in the worst place of the world, you are not really alone, there's person's like you, maybe they're lonely and that doesn't matter, cause they sing this song, knowing that they are not alone, I really love this game

Going through the comments I noticed that there were ppl who like this song but haven't finished the game. . To them I'd like to say finish the game, and this music will become so much more beautiful than it already is

"So I'll go to places that I've never known. Over and over I'll try again I know I'll make it." < The lyrics that keep on repeating occasionally when I listen to this song for long enough.
