I talk about some of the things that might help you if your loved one, or anyone you live with or care for, has a mental illness. I'm aiming to make a summarised version of this in the future.

Great video and down to earth advice, as always! I appreciate you spreading the truth about the reality of the mental illness. You should do a video about the gallows humor of people with mental illnesses. People with mental illnesses are so funny, so creative! I think the biggest problem is people who are afraid to recognize their own mental health issues - there should be a word for them! They're like homophobes - constantly attacking people who are brave enough to admit their problems - usually because they're too scared to acknowledge that they could relate if they were honest with themselves. Anyway, I enjoyed this so much! And the advice is absolutely on point.

thank you so much for surfacing this

that was the one thing that really upset me, was the idea she could be made to doubt herself and turn on herself. that's the scariest experience, and it doesn't need to happen that way at all.. it does no good. i hope more people respect the process she is going through, it is for her to learn and grow from and all willing it can develop positively, you can see she has that quality intrinsically and i believe she has the strength to guide herself, and with genuine understanding and the right support she can have a safe journey.

My mother was bipolar or manic depressive as they called it then, growing up when she was manic she shared with me a glimpse of her reality so vibrant and beautiful, too young to know this was mental illness, everything seemed so special. She died few years ago. Thank you for sharing this, it's important because most people don't have your insight and empathy

imagine if that filter was just switched off...

the clarity of that concept is powerful

its strange, because that filter can be switched off, and without much detection of the event, if an overwhelming surrender into complete and absolute trust and love for people becomes the actual reality- and you not only have no fear to share, there is vitality to being open and and urgency to connect with people in regards to the unspoken..,
in the true context of loving fellow man and trusting their good intentions, the filter is illogical, an easily forgettable mirage

If they cant get there crap together or learn how to understand boundaries then you dont have to live with or associate with them for any reason whatsoever. As simple as that.
