Try This VIRAL Japanese Snack | Where To Find The Best Tako Sembei
Показать описание
Don’t wait an hour for these famous Tako Senbei! Sometimes when snacks go viral on TikTok or instagram, the lines can get pretty crazy..
Also known as the “Screaming Shrimp Crackers”, they have them with Octopus as well, and the “screaming” noise is actually from the steam coming from the press when they squeeze down the shrimp or octopus into these thin and savory crackers.
They got SO popular at Tsukiji Market, the lines are over an hour! Instead of wasting your precious time in Japan waiting in line, head to Enoshima Island and go to the top of the island to the cafes at Kamegaoka Square (next to the Samuel Cocking Garden). The views are amazing from there too!
They sell Tako Senbei at little cafes on the way to Enoshima Island, and even blue variations closer to the temples, but to avoid any line, just head to the top, where the cafes also have seasonal flavor ice cream, coffee, drinks, and there’s even a row of vending machines.
They have both shrimp (ebi) and octopus (tako), but I prefer the octopus as it has great umami flavor, and also looks really cool! Be warned they come out super hot right off the press, and watch out for the hawks, as they’re known to swoop down and grab some snacks if you’re not paying attention!
Each giant cracker is 500 yen, and definitely worth trying, so be sure to bring some cash with you when you go explore Enoshima Island
