✵✵✵✵✵ Measuring LIGHT in Astronomy
Just How Bright are stars, really?
From ancient times, people have been looking at the stars and deciding this one is brighter than that one. But how do you know if a star is actually brighter, or just closer to you? Astronomers use a wide variety of terms to distinguish between how bright a star LOOKS to us, and how much light it is actually producing. These terms can be very confusing! But we'll help you figure it all out.
