Install and Configure Splunk Universal Forwarder on Windows

Usually, Splunk Universal Forwarder collects data from a data source then sends it to remote Splunk server. In this video, I am going to show how to install Universal Forwarder to Windows 10 and 7, also configure Splunk Server to receive forwarded logs.

thank you for this, I was able to resolve an issue with not being able to see the IP of the search instance on windows. Neither could i see the IP or port for the forwarder so no data was generating. Through this video I was able to create a port myself and it worked.

In version 8 of UF there is no option where you can select what kind of logs (like Application, security etc )you want to forward to splunk server during installation of UF .. So how we need to configure it ?..

It didn't work. Splunk cannot find the universal forwarder. You need to better explain about networking and port opening before setting up splunk forwarder.
