Hi Mur! Fantastic video! I have to tell you, I picked this up last week with the "star flashback" unit as well. A local grocery store (Fry's), had them on clearance for $12.00 each. Was too good of a deal to pass up. : ) I got most of the Blast units from last year for Christmas. I enjoyed some of them, some others, not so much. I think this one is definitely one of the better ones, and probably the one to definitely get!

Maybe on sale but it is nice to see they got around to arcade ports finally. To be a goof, maybe they should offer all the folks that good coned into the original blast thinking they would have the arcade ROMs a trade. LOL

Nice review. Did AtGames ever improve the controller? My brother had the original Blast and it felt cheap and was lousy for PacMan. Also video on some games like Galaga was choppy. $29.99 is too high for me, but I bet this will be discounted in a few months or by the end of the year.

Can you provide a link to where to buy this? I looked into my local Walmart and even the online and only the original appears. Not this improved version.

If this is used with a AtGames Legends Ultimate Connected Arcade can you use the joystick on the system or do you need to use the small controller that comes with the blast?

Thanks for guinea pigging for us on this item. You are so right on about the timing of its release. Had they released this as their first plug n' play, their reputation would be at such a better level. It's like crying "wolf" now (or crying "arcade" in their case). I would've never even considered getting this after so many fool's gold versions of games that turned out to be NES roms-- or worse, 2600 versions.

All I see is the old versions of these blasts they are all $4.88 at my local Walmart the only one I bought was the pong one and it's ok I'm wondering if the paddles could be synced up with the flashback 9 gold?

In atgames defense, in the original namco blast they never said anywhere on the box that it is arcade or nes versions. So it’s not really false advertising.

I just ordered this, but I'm pretty sure I have the first version coming instead of this one. Oh, well, it was cheap. But I'm really glad to see that they've stepped up their game for this release. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled. Thanks, Mur!
