I love the fact that people are refusing to answer questions at DUI checkpoints rendering them largely ineffective. Obviously I don't condone drinking and driving but even when they started these things 40 plus years ago I always thought they were sketchy.

You have 5th amendment right you do not have answer any question police ask. They also cannot ask for ID. 4th amendment violation. No crime no ID.

Aren't DUI checkpoints illegal? Pulling people over without probable cause or any reason whatsoever is harassment. I wouldn't answer either. Also, setting a standard for people using their fifth amendment is a good thing.

Edit: Some people are saying that you need to invoke your fifth amendment as though the officer doesn't know you already have that right. Any speech can be incriminating even in metadata. I'd stay silent.

Why do they still insist on setting up DUI checkpoints when the DUI checkpoint is a 4th Amendment and 5th violation? Someone somewhere ordering these checkpoints needs to read the United States Constitution.
