Here are the steps to change the transmission fluid and filter on a Ford Ranger with an automatic transmission. This is a 1992 Ford Ranger with the 4.0L V6 and the A4LD automatic transmission. This video also applies to earlier model Ford Rangers, Pintos, Fairmonts, Granada, Mustangs, Thunderbirds and some Mercury vehicles with the C3 transmission and later models with the 4r44e and 5r44e transmissions. These transmissions take Mercon fluid.

I hope anyone planing to make a automotive video watches this one, straight to the point no BS, No unnecessary talking, he did the work and explained it in detail. Thank you! (I was trolling youtube to find out if my 1988 had a transmission filter)

I just did this today and my transmission pan bolts are 13mm not 14mm, did they change at some point? Mine is a 1990 model. The new filter was also smaller than the replacement.
