Pretty sure that the actual Nova is smaller than that, much smaller - especially if you compare the size of the bridges, and the shuttle bays. That glassed-over* area on the Nova is the bridge...which is the same save as Connie bridge - but the bridge dome on the Connie shown here is MUCH smaller than that. *(I know that the "glass" is probably transparent aluminum - though in the TV show and movies, it sure *shatters* like glass.) Plus, the Connie has a crew of 200 to 300 or *more* at times...the Nova only has a crew of a few dozen. 40 *tops*. And the shuttle bay on the Equinox can fit a shuttle, maybe 2 tops - the Connie can hold more than that. And compare cut-aways from the two ships, or watch the Voyager episode "Equinox"...the Nova is tiny and *cramped*. Try to imagine a space like the Rec Deck from "The Motion Picture" fitting into the Nova.

I think the size comparison is a little off in this one. Either that or the windows on the Nova must be huge.

Difficulty with ST is the ships were designed by artist more than engineers. Scale is difficult to quantitify. I belive the NOVA is much, much small given the Enterprise had a crew of 400 and the Equinox had a crew of 10. Still nice rendering.

Why this Enterprise and not the refit one from the movies?

...I assume you're going by the 'official' 'canon' scaling for this, right?
Totally fair enough, no foul there. Might also be... I dunno, interesting sounds like the wrong word, it might also be, no, not fun either. Just as whatever to determine scale empirically - the height between the upper edge of a window and the upper edge of the window below it would be eight feet four inches (254cm in grown up) no matter which show you're on. Just judging by that I'd say whoever called the Equinox' official length dropped the ball some.
But, you know, nice render anyway, it's a good one for showing the difference between a ship designed by an artist and a ship designed by a teenaged ritalin addict. It's like parking a Ken Block Fiesta next to a Lotus Elite.
