That one point, "Type the distance you want the posts divided by" is astounding. That's better than using move/copy to place the 2nd post at 8', then x (number of posts)

I bought the full vali architecture package, something I found very helpful with it is using the instant walls feature, but I remove everything so its just a blank wall and I use that for sketching floor plans instead of just drawing lines. I would not say its necessarily faster and you have to delete hidden geometry but its really helpful when you start doing doors and windows since you don't need to resize the frames and you always get the look you want. Plus if there is a 2+ story building you don't have to worry about the corners not matching all the way. Still getting the hang of all the features in the package (roads and terrain especially) but I think its definitely worth the money.

Something simple and stupid I discovered yesterday after half a decade of Sketchup was this;
Before extruding a surface, I sometimes paint it. If it's a group or component and it's 'open', I make sure the other side is painted too, because this surface will develop into something more complex, and whatever is on the under surface now, will show up by 'default' as you go and sometimes have to be painted anyway. I could close the entity, paint the whole thing and open it again, another way to be certain both sides are painted the same.
So I 'lift' the entity up to be able to see the underside, and paint that, rotating it back to iso-view after.
Another way to paint the bottom I discovered, is to right-click the entity and choose "reverse faces". Of course! The other side shows it's colors and you correct that without having to 'rotate' up and down again. Also, when you're using push/pull to extend some joists out 5" by double clicking each one, and one goes the wrong way. You have to grab it, put it where it goes, and then you "double click" the next one and it goes somewhere weird too, because you forgot to 'reset' the push/pull tool to 5". From when the first face went the wrong way, just click "undo", then right click the surface and choose "reverse faces". The push/pull tool is still set to 5" so just double click the face now.
Last one I like is how the Tape measure tool imitates how a carpenter uses one. Using the tool, click a point to start and drag out to where you want to go, and do what you want to do with it, then release the tool to measure something else. If you go back and click the starting point, the tool is still stuck to it. Press control and click the starting point, and the tool 'seems' to be stuck, until you pull away a few feet, and it magically becomes available again, just like a carpenter with a 20' tape that's too far to reach to release. You could just press escape.

well, it was actually a very short summary. It is possible make a line on a terrain by drape tool, and then by follow me tool make fence folloving terrain. It is a bit pain to position texture (as fence is not in horizontal line), but works fine...You can use texture with displacement and transcluency mapping to real looking fencing (rusty netting etc...)

When doing the copy and move I have tried your suggestion of /8' and it does not work. It simply treats it as 8 and divides by that. Any suggestions why this is not working for me?

I think these commercials are pretty annoying Justin.... sorry but I just had to say this.
Great video by the way! I don't do fences until now. But with the export to Unreal Engine 4 in mind this actually could become quite important.
Thanks for the video!
