I had a silent heart attack at 55. 3 years later and also having heard of others unfortunate mishaps. Ive cashed in and heading back out to SE Asia. One life, Live it, Love it 😊

Wise words. 4 years ago I suffered professional burnout. My wife was then diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I retired to be her carer. A year ago I discovered that I had kidney cancer.
I had surgery and am clear to date.
You discover who your real friends are very quickly. They are often not whom you think they are.
It took me a while to appreciate that you must live in the moment.
I try to make the best of our situation for both our sakes.
There is joy to be had, it is up to you look for it .

Absolutey, understand all that you have said. For me, now at 64, started full time work in Corporate life at 16. Chasing promotions, career - conforming all the time. Now semi-retired and questioning what was that time really all about - yes raising family, paying bills BUT one life - how long? I don't care about career any longer - when I look on Linked-in it's all about 'Showing-off' - i.e. I've got promotion, I am 'one to watch' as I've won an award in such and such an industry - it's all crazy especially now - get real, nobody remembers you when you leave your job - not really - we are conditioned to conform but so important to take charge of oneself and stop conforming all the time to expectations and beliefs of conditioned others I say!

Aye. I'm 60. Stopped working a year ago.

My wake up call was my old pal from primary school having a heart attack. He's fine and has made an almost 100% recovery. But it makes you think about the fragility of life. So now I'm doing what i want to do - less £££ income, obviously, but I am so much richer in life!

I'm 70 with about 15 years left on the clock. When I purchase something I think in terms of "This will be the last time before I check out" ... LOL ... Cars, New roof, new refridgerator, new fruit tree ... etc

It doesn't matter much if you're working or retired unless you hate working. Life is life either way. Find enjoyment in the things you do.

ugh that graph is scary. at 61 I struggle with living in the moment. I struggle with the 'advances' in my career field because I want in, but I know it's too far over my head. Learning new things isn't fun anymore. The excitement is more like anxiety. I had horrible burnout several years ago and was told to cut back, take regular days off. it's hard when you are a type A and cannot sit still for long, but your body says 'NOPE".

Thanks again for the proverbial Nick'! The points you've raised are so important to not only understand but actually to ACT upon, not tomorrow but TODAY!! As you say, life is too fragile and too short to waste time!

I work in healthcare, (actually I retired at 55, 2 years ago and now work part time) several of the patients I scan (CT) are younger than me, and have cancer or heart issues. Everyone thinks they'll live to 90, not happening, at 57 I've got maybe 10 really good years left after that it's downhill. not a lot of time.

Thanks, Nick, for another direct and honest video, I really appreciate your words of no nonsense advice filled with experience. I'm 61 retired at 55 and would highly recommend it to anyone. I'm grateful for you sharing your awful experience earlier this year in Portugal. I, too, watched your video twice, and I look forward to the next. Live in the now and be present is excellent advice. Many thanks.

It's funny that some folks over 60 preach about retireing, yet they spend countless hours making youtube videos, trying to be a YouTube entrepreneur.

Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain.

I’m retiring in 7 months at 59…which I planned on doing for the last few years. I know I have an expiration date and I want to enjoy what time I have. I figure I have enough money and it’s just not worth chasing it anymore. Wait you retired at 44…
