For 2025 I have started implementing systems—rather than goals—to support me in living each day as the best version of myself. So far it’s working. A bit of caffeine, energizing music, and reminding myself that God is with me and encouraging me with “Action, action, action” all have helped.

One constant in life is change. My daughter lives states away but my son is home for law school. It brings so much joy to my husband and me! Law school is only 3 years, so I am savoring all of it now! Hang in there.

Unbelievable! I needed this!This was my life 18 months ago. Moved to new place making a long distance relationship now a every day one. I left my job, left behind family, friends, my church, my hobbies and more. I have struggled with the change but I saw God move me. It was so clear. Dominique like you!! Lost my husband, and decided to move from Houston to Dallas to be near my sisters children, my life in Houston did not hold anything for me any more. Sold my house in 4 days, had to be out of my house very quickly. Found a beautiful senior 55 apartment and was moved in in 3 months from the time that I sold my home!! It was sad to leave my husband, who I could not go and visit when I wanted to, but my life is so full up here!! God has been my driving force for me too!! Found a church that I love!! I think I need to write my self a letter to remind me what I lost, but I gained so much more in the move. Thank you for this beautiful letter!! I’m in tears because it opened me up to something that I need to do!! Writing a letter today! ❤

Loved your letter and the concept! 2024 was one of the most difficult years of my 64 years, but on one hand was one of the best! I learned to fully surrender and rely on God. Ps. 52:8 I see you spiritually flourishing under the beautiful headship of your husband who has the gift of encouragement and teaching. Dominique, here's my favourite saying....I've made many changes in my life because of this saying. Feel free to share.

“Change is expensive.” No matter what you want in life, you must give up something to get it. It’s a universal law, and it works like this…The greater the value of what you want, the greater sacrifice you will have to make. The truth is, that it is hard and continuous dedication that brings lasting results. There are no short cuts, easy streets, or detours. Expect to pay a price, if you want tomake your life better. But, more importantly, also expect to pay a price for just leaving things as they are.

Wow! So uplifting! Seriously learning what you own own’s you! I’m in my 60’s and just got headhunted to start a new amazing job in Las Vegas! I was in DFW and moved to Houston and now will go from Houston to Vegas! I’m doing this alone but not really bc I have Jesus with me!
