So true.. it's a misconception that you can't work dark colours in the summer. As long as the material is loose and breathable like linen, seersucker, very light cotton.

I don't even watch this for the fashion anymore. I just think the guy is super chill.

Hello from Australia! Yes to the linen, but also, try wearing a singlet/undershirt. It absorbs sweat and keeps it off your outer garment! May seem counter intuitive again- extra layers- but keeping to light weight materials like cotton and linen make it bearable. And carrying a sun parasol to a wedding is super acceptable, and keeps the sun off which keeps you cooler! A good quality anti perspirant also makes a huge difference.

Buy some dress shields. They’ve been around for years. Sew them into the garment. They cover the underarm seam and absorb perspiration. Remove and wash.

I sweat a lot. Bamboo shirts / blouses are a lifesaver.

YES. After moving to a hot climate and being miserable in anything that had even the slightest bit of synthetic materials in it, I finally got my hands on some pure linen or cotton outfits. The difference was mind blowing. I was still hot, but I wasn't melting!

Your hair is a character of its own. If that's natural, you're lucky

Yes to linens - and Parker, if you haven't already - can we please get a David Bowie as Goblin King from LABYRINTH inspired outfit.

Listen I live in Florida and I can tell you the way to go is to wear an undershirt. Very important, and it will also keep you cooler

Linen is also an incredible fabric for absorbing sweat and body oils as well without devopling that BO smell, unlike cotton or synthetic fibers.

Linen also isn't very colour fast when it comes to natural dyes so you won't get the signature yellowing overtime.

You can place panty liners in your shirt under your arms. It keeps it from going onto your shirt. Rubbing a low grade alcohol All over your chest, neck and face will help with sweat there. But still use moisturizer after, so it doesn't dry out your skin. It's an old modeling hack when you are doing outdoor work. Keeps sweating to a minimum. And a good 48 hr moisture activated deodorant.

Mitchum antiperspirant, the unscented roll-on very specifically. An obscure, hero product.

Very good question and answer. I live in the Caribbean. I've acquired some unlined jackets to cater for the heat.

Also worth mentioning, midtones will show your sweat the most. So if you don't have dark colors, flip to lighter colors like white. The lighter colors still shown sweat, but less than a midtone would. Midtones always make things pop and neutralize the color, which is why artist love drawing on midtone grays and browns.

I find that loose-woven fabrics do more to mitigate sweat than lightweight fabrics. So a nice crochet polo with a relaxed linen suit would be my move (in dark colors to be safe).

Also, avoid artificial fibers like acrylic. They're non-breathable and you'll feel stuffy in them in the heat. Natural fibers like linen and cotton are your best friends!
