I'm a Chevy guy. It took me a while to start liking the Fords twin turbo V6 after watching several videos on it I started to think, OK maybe a V6 can be in a full size truck. With this 10 speed transmission I'm thinking it is going to hit a home won. Way to go Ford!

I can't wait for that 10 speed manual in city driving. It's going to rock!

Great video. I don't know is Ford is still doing it on 2017's but in the 2015 and 2016 F150's Ford was using a system that would enhance certain exhaust tones that you would hear in the truck. The Ford explanation is ''The DACMC determines the engine tone to enhance based upon engine rotation speed data, engine torque data, and accelerator pedal position data from the PCM. The data from the PCM is processed and converted into an analog audio signal, transmitted to the DACMC internal tone generator, '' basically, on higher model 3.5 EB's a tougher, meatier sound is pumped through the speakers, as a result when you are in the truck it sounds A LOT different than when you are standing beside the truck. I know, I know... some of you are saying bullshit!!!, but look it up.

Thanks for asking about other platforms. I would love to get a Transit van with the 2nd Gen Ecoboost with the 10 speed Trans. Even if they used the 2.7.

The delay in getting the EPA MPG figures is frustrating - thanks again for asking Andre.

"Please introduce yourself for those who don't know you"

I don't feel like many people know the marketing managers for car companies :P

Guys, not to nitpick, but Roman and Andre should at least pretend to look interested when they are interviewing someone.

They put the port injection in the new Ecoboost to keep the back of the intake valve cleaner. One of the side effects of straight DI is coking on the intake valves that causes serious problems as the engine gets higher miles.

I'm such a fan of the Ford F-150 ! I own a 2006 Roush F-150 Champions Edition"New England Patriots Edition" I heard the the gentleman at the start of this post who manages the transmission or power train division say "we're pretty happy with this 10 speed transmission " I would never say " I'm pretty happy with my wife or girlfriend? "I imagine as an intelligent individual he can see room for improvement ?

I remember reading an auto rag from the late 70's. It was reviewing the new Datsun pickup with a 5 speed manual. The author commented that it felt like rowing a boat. Imagine rowing a 10 speed.

Andre, you do quite well without the notes, no need for the photo prompting. It must be exciting as well as tiring and nerve-racking to be new in your field and to do this type of work! Be aware that when you're new at something you're not going to get everything perfect. Relax be yourself and enjoy yourself! I have been watching you develop over time and you certainly have a fan in me.

Andre. I've priced both 2016 f150 an the 217 super duty... and for about the same price....I'm leaning towards the super duty because i believe you get more bang for your buck with the super duty...more capability to tow, haul. What are your thoughts? After carefully looking at the comparison of these two trucks I think I'm going to purchase the super duty this fall.

more complex but im glad to see port injection return. there reqlly is no good solution to intake valves getting fouled up with just direct injection (so far). They will never say it but im sure thats the primary reason for bringing back port injection.

don't know... I had test drove a GM with the 7 (?) speed awhile back.. seemed to hunting for a gear in traffic all the time, couldn't imagine having to tow anything to boot. Now we have 10? I'll keep my old school 12' Titan with 5speed. Even tho it could use one more gear....

What I really want to know about the new transmission is serviceability:

Does it have a "lifetime" fluid?

Is there a new fluid specification coming out with the transmission?

How much will the fluid for this new transmission cost per quart?

Is there a drain for the transmission fluid on the bottom of the pan?

Does a drain and fill of the transmission require any special tools?

Does the transmission have to be at a specific temperature (like newer Toyotas)?

How much will the oem filters cost?

Does the transmission have any problems with an aftermarket fluid cooler?

What happened to buying a new truck for under 20k custom ordered. I'll keep my 4 speed and uncarpeted interior. Also don't need touch screen radio
