Sonic X Shadow Generations Switch Review

Gather around gamers as I enlighten you on the great console wars of the early 90's. Growing up, you were either a Sega or a Nintendo kid, and friendships and bonds were forged or lost depending on which side you were on. We would see this war happen again with Playstation and Nintendo 64, but for a while there it seemed like Mario and Sonic would forever be locked into an eternal battle for your love and affection. Thankfully these days, gamers are a mostly united bunch, and Mario and Sonic have even taken on the Olympics together on the Nintendo Switch. Sonic X Shadow Generations for me was a surprise release, and when I saw it come out I ducked out to grab a copy to see how Sonic... and Shadow, of course, are going. What's it Like? Put on your sneakers, tighten those laces, and prepare to go fast as we review Sonic X Shadow Generations on Nintendo Switch.

I've been tempted to pick this one up, it's been a good while since I've delved into a new Sonic game! Really appreciate this review, great work!

Great with you it’s been awhile since I watched a review on your channel but when I always watch a review on your channel I’m always impressed and this review is no exception. I was worried about the switch port of sonic X shadow generations but having watched other reviews, I need not have worried cause I keep hearing that the switch version performs consistently well, and I will be picking this up tomorrow especially now as it’s on offer in a black Friday sale.

in my opinion, this is personally the best Sega has ever done for us since Mania, but again, that's probably what i think

Looks like a terrific entry in the Sonic series. It's funny to hear you talk about the console war between Sega and Nintendo, as I personally never experienced it. That may be due to the fact that I had a grandma who was willing/able to spoil me when I was little, but I had both a Game Boy and Game Gear, an original Nintendo (and then N64 - skipping the Super Nintendo) and a Sega Genesis/Megadrive. I loved and spent countless hours with them all. Where the console wars hit me was when Sony entered the scene. My brother went the Playstation route, while I mostly stuck with Nintendo. Regardless, my little childhood brain built meaningful memories with both Mario and Sonic, and I'm grateful for them both.

Sadly, while I'd love to dive into more adventures with Sonic, if there's one thing the last few Sonic games have taught me it's that twitch gaming just isn't my thing anymore. And Sonic is all about that speed. So I'll chill out with my slower, exploration/puzzle/simulator type games. and leave Sonic to the fine folks still able to enjoy him. He's quite the character.
