Surprisingly enough, I found out haphazardly that traditional jock straps have a slight lift to them. I recently had inguinal hernia repair and I was looking for something that would hold a bandage in place without using tape. It was open repair, not laparoscopic so I had a 5 inch incision and all that tape in that area leads to skin irritation really quick. Anyway, a traditional jock strap worked great and I noticed the straps in the back actually had a little lift to them. The great part is, you can adjust the straps using safety pins to create even more lift as long as it's not uncomfortable. Try it out.
