I might be crazy, but I feel like I remember reading somewhere once that Coke was originally meant to be drank at room temp, and Pepsi was made with refrigeration in mind, so refrigerated, a lot of people preferred Pepsi, and at room temp, more people liked Coke. Or something along those lines.
