Just do not have worries about the lenght of your videos, Sir. I am pretty sure there are plenty of people out there like me who enjoy every second of them. Keep up the good work, and than you.

Great story about the paddle, I was the testee on several of those myself !  Great instruction and great memories all in one.  Please do not think your work is too long, it is excellent instruction and wonderful entertainment, three cheers for your work!   God Bless!

Sitting in a hotel room, traveling with my work.  Enjoying this tremendously.  Just purchased 40 pounds of Linotype Lead,  and as I have a small, oil fired, furnace in the shop, this may give me a project in the shop.

Good memory of the paddling.  I too am of the age where I have a memory of a paddling by Mr. Baughman, the Welding Instructor.  Sadly I was the recipient, but as you said I survived and he did not have to do it twice.

I never thought that I'd see a machinist batoning wood in a video on how to make a lead hammer lol. Love your videos, very different than most others on here. You go out of your way to do these long laborious jobs most people would call you crazy for doing but there is so much to learn from things as this.

Learning is never tedious and detailed and dull.

Mr Pete, I have been trying to find the next video (#166) but it looks like you have not made it yet, I could watch other videos instead, they are all, I mean all, very interesting.Thank you for making these informative videos, I could watch them all day long and never get tired.

I remember a few paddling at school. Not many, but they got the point across! As I recall the paddle had holes in it to reduce wind resistance.

My grandpa made a mold for aluminum hammers. He took a 2 inch diameter pipe about 3 inches long, cut a 1 inch slot along the length out. Welded one end shut with a plate and left the other end open. then clamped a plate on the open end. Mold done! set it down take a piece of black pipe, smash the end flat about 1 inch and insert it into the slot in the side of the pipe. Hold it vertical while you pour the aluminum in. Wait a minute or two. Unclamp the plate from the end and slide the hammer out. Done! I've made half dozen with his mold and will now try it with lead.

Great idea to make a permanent mould.  I may get back into casting this summer, depends on how fast I get other things done.  I only made a few things before I was interrupted by life so I am mostly a novice at casting.  Great video, I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the project.

Great start on the steps, material and attention to detail needed to create the hammer head.  Dan

I sure am enjoying this, I hope I don't doze off in the middle, I don't want to miss any of this. It was a long day in the shop turning solid wood to dust!!

Hi mrpete,

You're lucky you don't have to take your garbage to the curb, the wind does it for you.

A judge would be happy to knock that nice mallet in court to bring back order...

Anxious for the next part,
Pierre

The North Texas Sculpture shop knows exactly what your doing with the molds and everything. Jeff McClung runs it now. Was run by David Isles and Luke Sides as well.

I am enjoying it very much and I believe that you arnt being long winded the video is fine the way it is and if people have turned off they probably don't want to learn or watch in the first place.
