If your son has bad allergies the best thing would be to replace his carpet with a hard floor and get a good HEPA filter. Also not letting the dog sleep in (or even go in) his room.

We had a golden for years. I would vacuum twice a day to keep the hair and dander at bay. You may want to get him an air purifier as well. Taking up the carpet definitely helps! We had to because of my allergies. Also brushing her every day helps as well. They are notorious for shedding. Especially the older they get. If it is in your budget, removing carpet is a huge help as well!! Just passing along from experience! I hope it helps!

Swiffer dusters are good to clean blinds and fans. They have long sticks to reach high areas or even under surfaces.

I have a German shepherd and they are also known for shedding. Most definitely have to vacuum daily. I also have to change my Hvac return Filter once a month!! Crazy 😜

We have a yellow lab. Oh the hair😬Get a rumba would be my advice. Brush the dog outside daily. It’s impossible to keep the hair from floating on to surfaces. Expect to vacuum daily😛🙄
