Treasurer Jim Chalmers says the idea that there is a wage-price spiral in the economy is “ridiculous”.

“I think it’s important we broaden our conversation beyond this ridiculous idea we have a wage-price spiral,” Mr Chalmers said in a media conference on Wednesday.

“We don’t have inflation because wages are growing quickly.

“One of the problems is that wage growth has been too stagnant."

It should disqualify him from this job if he doesn't think wages don't have an effect!

It's economics 101, wage increases cause inflation.

Growing wages aren't the problem. It's deficit spending, quaitative easing, & spiking energy prices due to curtailing the supplies of cheap, reliable energy...

Most of the inflation is coming from greedy corporations who have implemented large price increases.
