In today's episode, biologist Rupert Sheldrake, a former research fellow at Cambridge University with a PhD in biochemistry, explores the concepts of morphic resonance, the extended mind, and telepathy, challenging mainstream scientific paradigms. Sheldrake discusses how memory and habits may exist beyond the brain, proposing that our consciousness and gaze have tangible, measurable effects on the world around us.

Thx for interviewing Rupert. He is one of the few serious and sincere scientists questioning reductionism. Keep it up. Great Channel.

I have a friend who does a lot of hunting & fishing/diving and I related to him this theory about the predator/prey connection with vision and being sensed etc - he instantly told me that he also tries to monitor his target using his peripheral vision in an attempt to remain unnoticed, and when shooting repeats in his mind "I'm a stick, I'm a stone" for the same reason - and when diving/spear-fishing repeats the words "I'm seaweed, I'm a stone" if a shark comes too close. I found this delightful as he is quite a serious manly-man and not someone you would think would indulge in such woo-woo practices 😄

I like Ruperts thoughts about Morphic Fields. Curt, I especially appreciate you asking the question about prayer at the end, you asked it at just the right point and his answer was sincere, deeply personal and quite touching.

Rupert's son Merlin has written a fantastic book: Entangled Life. I listened to the Audible version, and liked it so much I bought some hard-copies to give to friends. Always been interested in Rupert's ideas. Good to see him here with you Curt.

This reminds me of two incidents worth recalling. One of my friends, while doing his PhD from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, one day while walking in early morning in the campus, suddenly felt heaviness in his steps and had a feeling of darkness descending upon him. He had a perception of some bad happening. He called at his home in Gwalior, a city 1800 km away. He found that his father died at 4.04 am, that was the exact time when he had that bizarre feeling.
Same guy while doing his post- doc in USA, 12769 km away, called me the morning my father passed away in the hospital, he said ' I called you because I had the feeling that some thing bad had happened in Gwalior', then I told him that my father was no more.
First incidence was related to his own father but second one was about my father. I don't know how to explain it. Some how individual conscienceness is connected with the universal conscienceness. By the way, he was a scientist (he died of cardiac arrest in USA) and I am a pathologist by profession.

It is time that official science takes these claims seriously and verifies or falsifies them experimentally, instead of dismissing them outright.

Even now anyone can purchase hunting apparel that will cloak your bioelectro-magnetic field so that the hunter can approach animals closely and in fact even walk amongst them without detection. Science now knows that migratory birds actually see the extremely low-frequency EM fields of the earth visually. They do this by utilizing a special conductive molecule (cryptochrome proteins) in their eyes to actually see EM fields and this is the key to their amazing navigation abilities.

Suggestion: while looking at the test subject consider “Projecting” thoughts.
Pleasant and Loving Thoughts V.S. Violent and malicious thoughts.
If there is a difference in the response, then light can be ruled out. Instead a non physical / soul or consciousness based causation may be assumed.

Just watched, got in the car to drive to the shops. I turn on the radio. Suzanne Vega is singing 'Tom's Diner', which I've not heard in over 30 years. The lyrics:

"And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies
When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head
There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?
No she does not
Really see me
'Cause she sees
Her own reflection."

Resonant synchronicity.

Just wanted to say that normally most long format videos are not very good at holding my attention, yours are an exception though. I enjoy listening to the guests you invite along with your thoughtful questions and summations throughout the presentations. Even as a layman such as myself you make the topics presented accessible and interesting, so thank you.

The summary at the end is really useful. Repetition, putting it into differnt words with two persons discussing what has been said can be helpful to let the knowledge sink in

The predator prey relationship brought to mind S. African Anna Breytenbach. As an animal communicator she joined bushmen hunters that said exactly the same thing. They however added the very visible trail which prey left to them. It was a "silvery" path that trailed behind thier prey. They also claimed to be aided by particular animals along the way. Birds and snakes mostly. It is fascinating, as the help was symbiotic.

I loved this Curt. I’m familiar with much of Dr. Sheldrake’s work and find him to be a fascinating, courageous and creative thinker. It could be interesting to hear a discussion between him and Bernardo Kastrup about his perception of Bernardo stopping short.

Delighting to listen to. Besides the topic (actually too anecdotal), the british accent of this man and the overall sintactic construction of his sentences are sooo good
