This is the vfx that Star Trek V deserved

This is amazing. If any film deserved a complete redo of it's VFX it's definitely this one.

It's fantastic with what can be done now by people working at home, using mostly off-the shelf hardware and software. I am profoundly amazed by this!

1:23 Love that wide shot of the fantail, reinforces that she's a big ship. Also love showing crew members in the overhead flight control blister.

The Enterprise was truly always a character if her own and properly introduced in each movie.

Is it just me or does Jerry Goldsmith's Star Trek V score get better every time you hear it? I used to think it was a retread of TMP, but more and more I realize he brought his A game here too. It's got all the same magic.

I get this is a VFX showcase, but I'd have kept McCoy's lines about bumping into the Klingons, Scotty in engeering and Kirk shifting around in the new captain's chair before seeing the Enterprise go to warp.

But this IS about the visuals, which are just A-S-T-O-N-I-S-H-I-N-G !!!

There have been several fan versions of this going up recently. In your first try you have done the version! Thank you for giving a decent movie the effects it needed!

My favourite shot of the Enterprise going to warp is at the end of Voyage Home, i think this new ST V version may surpass it. Well done. We can only hope for a proper efffects remaster one day, i wish Paramount would hire people like you get it done.

In some of the more difficult moments of my life, where I’m beginning to falter and stumble and doubt myself, I hear Scotty say “you’re doing just fine”, and it brings me back to center. Thank you for bringing one of my favorite Star Trek scenes up into a new level.

This was great. I just rewatched ST V two days ago. Shatner should have hired you instead of that non-ILM low budget effects company from NJ.

Wow. that was... amazing!. I forgot I was watchign a clip and for a moment, I thought I was actually watching a remastered version of this subpar movie.
First rate sir. my hats off to you.

Love the texturing on the Enterprise's hull. I feel like V is a movie that would have been remembered a lot better if a lot of smaller aspects, mainly the FX, would have been pulled off better. What's nice about this video is it has the feel of something still done with models but that actually looks good so that it doesn't feel out of place in a movie that's over 30 years old.

Very impressive. I think all the Star Trek movies with the original cast deserve new effects. 😍😍😍

My God, this was beautiful! And kudos for including the windows where the forward observation lounge is!!! Can't wait to see that scene! Also, have you every thought of doing the open credit sequence? Originally it was supposed to be a "power of 10" shot where the camera pulls back from Nimbus 3, the zooms across space, closes in on Earth, then Yosemite, and finally a small spec on El Capitan. But that was one of the first things to go when the budget tightened.

Beautiful work, man. Can’t wait to see how you do the climactic scenes at the Great Barrier and Shakari.

Also the Enterprise's Shuttle bay reminds me of the U.S. Battleships Floatplane Catapults of World War 2 located on the stern

This was amazing!!! Why isn't Paramount giving Shatner the money to redo ALL the special effects and bringing the original rock creature to the screen the way he wanted to.
Thanks again for great work.

Great work! Of all its flaws Goldsmith’s score was fantastic in this.
