What a band. You can tell they’re all good players, no flash, just in it for music. Soulful, funky, rocking. They could do it all.

When you go back to this band you realise how damn good they were.

If you saw The Feat live with Lowell George then you witnessed complete musical mastery with a combination of Blues, Soul, Funk, R&B and total command of every genre or theme beyond those, damn Lowell is missed, RIP.

And forty years later, Plant himself is singing this kind of music. Indeed.

What a performance! All are in top form. Richie Hayward was extraordinary. Not many rock drummers can truly swing, but his "feel" is uncanny. The space between the beats have the most amazing contour, and the agogic variation in the big beats keeps one leaning all the way. Rhythmic gifts like his cannot be taught. You either got it...or you ain't.

If you're going to buy one album from Little Feat, get Waiting for Columbus - a great live album with all their hits.

I remember watching this on Whistle Test and it was brilliant … a band with feel, as we used to say.

This was the first time I'd ever heard of " Little Feat", I was blown away, I became an avid "feat fan " and I still am to this day.

The mighty Feat playing in a little old bbc studio in my hometown. What a privilege to have them there. With the ramshackled genius of the late great Lowell George !

Giving this another airing. My favourite American band. I was at the Rainbow down in London where they opened for The Doobie Brothers. What a concert

Every one of these dudes was a virtuoso, one of the most unique bands ever...

I’ve heard a lot about Little Feat, but I’ve never seen them before. Now I know what everyone was talking about. They’re like a cross between The Band and Steely Dan. Awesome!

Truely wonderful band. Lowell George died far too early and with him the true Little Feat, he was the cornerstone of the band. Their music was unique nobody ever played like them before or after. A combination of southern rock, delta blues and Dr John like jazz.

Little Feat was one of the most talented bands of all time. Saw them last in a Vegas parking lot. Shaun Murphy was singing and their performance was top tier.

Lowell George was once asked to describe Little Feat’s music. He referred to it as “Sophisti-Funk”. Great description. I say a smooth blend of blues, rock, country, and jazz. Either way, what a spectacularly innovative band that all serious musicians should become acquainted with!

The Old Grey Whistle Test. Often imitated, never equaled.
