While watching the live discussion, I could sense some frustration, likely due to language barriers. A notable moment was when Sahil referenced family to illustrate certain issues in Islam, and Aladdin questioned this approach.

I believe there was a misunderstanding. Sahil's intent seemed to be to emphasize that personalizing an issue often garners more empathy. For instance, when discussing the acceptability of an older man marrying a 9-year-old girl, Sahil's approach is to ask opponents to consider the scenario if the girl were their daughter or sister. This method encourages deeper contemplation rather than relying solely on traditional Hadith teachings.

Thank you AA for doing this. I heard a lot of people mention Ex-Muslim Sahil but as I don't understand Urdu/Hindi I haven't been able to form an opinion of him and his approach. This discussion was very enlightening. All I will say is that I'm grateful to you, Aladdin, for taking the approach you do, as it leads to a more meaningful engagement with Muslims.

ExMuslim Sahil very impressive, even though he engages with Muslims differently. Nice to see you two talking about so many important issues, thanks so much for the video.

Isn't it insane to believe in a God that tortures people non stop in the grave and then the afterlife for eternity

Hey Aladdin. Just stumbled upon this chat. It piqued my curiosity because of the context. I'll stay away from the specifics of the discussion but I take a lot of inspiration from your general tenor and disposition in all of your interactions. I admire your restraint and solution-oriented approach to things. It's perceptive and very measured. One wishes for this kind of discourse in all aspects of human behaviour. Cheers mate!

Thank you for this Alaadin. I was never exposed to an exmuslim from that community and it was definitely interesting.

A non-indian will never understand how religion shapes the political landscape of India. An ex-muslim in non-hindutva run state is as safe as an ex-muslim in Pakistan. Outsiders have no clue that the political parties will waste no time in throwing them to wolves if they get a hint that this might fetch them muslim votes. The reason Indian ex-muslims seem pro hindutva is because they get a safe space here.

Different approach works for different people. As an ex-muslim who watches and enjoys the content of both channels, I'm grateful for the diversity. And I hope it stays this way.
Sahil has a multipronged approach. He's very respectful and humble at baseline. As the conversation / debate goes on, he adapts to the caller's vibe/energy/ education level/ slang / humour etc ... Which means he talks about the same topic in multiple ways. Sometimes he makes me laugh till my belly hurts. Sometimes he makes me cry.
When it comes to political correctness, no one beats Apostate Aladdin
When it comes to the critique of Islam in an entertaining way, no one beats Sahil and Adam Seeker
I love both ❤

AA…. As a Hindu I can say why I feel I should support Ex Muslims.
I do because I was once told to convert by my ex bf.
And the moment i said no why is conversion necessary, things went downhill.
You probably don’t understand the dynamics in India.
Even though India is a secular country and Hindus are larger in numbers, Muslims openly abuse and berate our culture.
This is in the name right to promote their religion.
People have had enough.
So this is all very enlightening and reassuring that something is not right about the religion.

Oh man, I just wish ex muslims like Zafar heretic, sahil, would do their channel in english. I cannot subscribe to them cause i cannot understand what they're talking about.😔

Listening to this a year later for the first time. So far I find Sahil has the exact same problems as every other South Asian presenter - stick to my script, stick to my agenda and we'll be fine. Don't ask me to improvise or I WILL be awkward and cringe. 35 mins done. Now hopefully, he has good answers to Aladdin's questions.

Apostate alladin is the absolute best to have this conversation. He is the most honest person in the west and is not swayed by the usual negative propaganda against India but in fact remained open minded and fair in his gentle speech.

It's great to see that ex-muslims from different communities/countries are getting together to understand each other. We need more of these discussions.

I don't think it's just because of Islam, talking in India just generally feels more argumentative and aggressive.

Wether it be the news, politics, history etc.

I feel like there are a lot of opinions in india and there is a race to be the lowdest and most aggressive to get it heard.

Like I am into tech and I watch mostly Western content on tech, but the other day I watched a Hindi tech video and I was kinda taken aback on how loud it was.

My dad aslo watches Indian news on his phone and it's super loud and argumentative.

The amount of tension in this video because of language barriers is hilarious yet so tiring!!

Aladin, I have subscibed and listen to your channel.Your approach is much more suitable for those who wanted to have a conversation. I have seen an approach of a dialogue than a debate which suits your type of audiences. I don't speak Hindi nor Urdu but living amongst muslims is quite different. They are more aggressive not just in their tone but in action as well. I been a victim of such treats . Your Muslim friends would suddenly threaten you with police report or even worst. Even for just questioning what is written in the quran would rile them up, more so quoting Muhammad's behaviour would be a total crime! There are cases where the nons were jailed for such post in FB. I would be very careful in what i say publicly or in social media as there are dawah army monitoring any such postings.

Sanskrit :
Guru Brahma Gurur VishnuGuru Devo MaheshwarahaGuru Saakshat Para BrahmaTasmai Sree Gurave Namaha

Meaning:
teacher is brahma
(creator)
Teacher is vishnu
(Preserver or sustainer)
Teacher is shiva
The destroyer
The one who teaches you is beyond ultimate god (maheswara)
I bow down to that teacher

So for us one who teaches us can be beyond the unreal .
