It is even said that, in the nineties, you could just write a song based on Pachelbel's Canon and become rich. Do you think it's true?

Even a trilingual Baltic seperatist song uses the Canon progression in the verses and it's called The Baltics Are Waking Up (Atmostas Baltija/Bunda Jau Baltija/Ärgake Baltimaad)

Well, i believe as i listen to "Victims Of Love" by Joe Lamont, "Dying Inside" by Timmy Thomas and "628" by Europe that these songs could also fit with Pachelbel's canon.

Some others I know of; Edward Elgar-Land of Hope and Glory (AKA Pomp and Circumstance, not sure which number), John Williams-Somewhere in My Memory (which is apparently based off part of The Nutcracker so that portion of The Nutcracker is probably based on Cannon in D), and some songs that I've written that I have up on all platforms Ditto Music works with (shameless self promotion).

I think there's quite a ton of contemporary Japanese music based on Canon in D.
Some examples I can think of off the top of my head are:

Itsumo Nando Demo (The credits theme from Spirited Away)
Setsuna Yuki - DIVE! (Insert song from Love Live)
μ's - Kitto Seishun ga Kikoeru (Credits theme from the first season of Love Live)

I don't believe any of these songs use the exact Canon in D chord progression, instead they substitute one or two chords. For instance, Itsumo Nando Demo substitutes the second-to-last chord (IV) for a ii-chord, which creates a stronger resolution to the I-chord. These songs are still most definitely based on the progression, though. Give them a listen if you're interested! I find this series a ton of fun, it's crazy just how much influence Canon in D has had on modern music.
