Attention veterans and family members! 🇺🇸 In our latest video, we break down the 2025 VA Cost of Living Increase and what it means for YOU. Senate leaders are stepping up to ensure our veterans' benefits stay aligned with inflation and rise alongside Social Security.
Join us as we examine the recent bipartisan proposal by Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee Chairman Jon Tester and ranking member Jerry Moran. Their commitment could mean a deserved boost in compensation for veterans with service-connected disabilities, as well as survivors of former service members in 2025.

As part of the proposal, veterans with a 10% disability rating or higher would receive a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) increase in their monthly compensation.
Survivors receiving Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) would also see an increase in their monthly benefits.

This proposed increase is on top of the annual COLA adjustments for Social Security and other federal benefits, ensuring that veterans' benefits keep pace with inflation.
The proposal also includes provisions to expand access to VA healthcare for disabled veterans who are not currently enrolled in the VA system.

Along with this proposed legislation, there have been ongoing efforts by Congress to modernize and improve the VA system for veterans, including increasing access to mental health care and streamlining disability claims processing.

It's important for veterans and their families to stay informed about these legislative efforts and how they could potentially impact their benefits.

By staying up-to-date on changes in legislation, veterans can better understand and utilize the resources available to them through the VA. This can ultimately improve their overall well-being and quality of life.

As always, thank you for your service and sacrifices. Our nation's veterans are a vital part of our community and we must continue to support and advocate for them. So don't forget to like, comment, and share this video with other veterans and family members who could benefit from this important information.

I'm confused the federal COLA is always the same for veterans, SSDI and SSI . They just passed a bill to take away the food money penalty that SSI folks have that cuts SSI from 900 to 600 but that does not apply to Veterans or SSDI money, I have both tax free. Are they saying they are boosting the COLA for vets to a larger amount above ssdi and ssi that would be great. But know that every time a politician gives you a raise in one pocket they figure out how to take more out of the other pocket at the same time !
ESPECIALLY WITH A UPCOMING ELECTION. It would be nice to get a increase that actually helps vets with the real price of EVERYTHING.

Believe veterans deserve to pay no taxes ever ie, state, property, capital gains etc. Also free healthcare period! No certain percentages. Retirement and disability pay too, regardless of 20 yrs. ( Richard Starr Act) needs passed.

Since when is the VA COLA not directly linked to Social Security in terms of increases?

that article does not make sense, we have always had our VA disability compensation tied to the Social Security COLA.
And we don't always have to have a raise like it said. Two or three years we did not get a SS or VA cost-of-living raise.
that Senators article is nothing but BS
these are the cost of living adjustment I have received with my VA compensation since 1999, and my Social Security I started receiving in 2018. I got this off the bureau of labor statistics. So what these two senators are saying is nothing but a bunch of BS.

Having it being automatic would be nice given how dysfunctional congress is as a whole.

However, one of the reasons for the government's "unique" math when it comes to inflation calculations is to make sure that the COLA for social security stays low. So hitching disability to that is a mixed bag.

Hey Craig! I think they should compensate us and raise the rate they give us to the same raise that they elect themselves in office! Personally! Just my 2 cents!

If they could just bump up every disabled vet's disability percentage to the next level to compensate for the bad va math, then that would be gangbusters.
