Storm Eunice: BA jet almost flips over during Heathrow landing

Alarming footage shows planes struggling to land at Heathrow as Storm Eunice hits the UK.

The government’s emergency Cobra committee is to convene for a second day in response to Storm Eunice, amid fears it could be among the UK’s worst in 30 years.

The Met Office has taken the rare step of issuing two “red” weather warnings – in south Wales and southwest England, and in London and the southeast – meaning it is very likely that dangerous winds will pose a risk to life.

A lot of people got sick, poor little boy next to me got sick and it bounced out of sick bag all over his face, an no cloth to wipe it until it was safe for cabin crew to leave their seat!

Has exactly the same recently (a go-around) and its the low level turbulence that does it. Capt explained to me is the wind hitting the hangers etc and accelerating across the runways. He told me BA routinely train for this effect...

This sort of reporting is why I don't buy The Independent. The title and the commentary is the sort of thing that you would expect from The Sun!
The go around and subsequent landing were possibly a little worrying for the passengers, but BA pilots know what they are doing and they do it very well, even under atrocious winds like this.

Reality: plane tilts by approximately 15 degrees and is easily managed. Independent: plane flips through 360 degree spin and Superman stablises the left wing. Is the newspaper full title "Independent of the Truth"?
