I think you were successful in deleting the highway, and I think it was a good choice. One thing that bothers me is the lack of commercial and other workplaces nearby. You have great public transit (brt, tram and metro), but a corner shop should be a good use of the land, especially in a green-field project like this. I love your videos otherwise, it looks great!

I'll admit, I'm kinda sad to see the highways go lol. I know that overemphasis of car infrastructure is a real-life problem for many cities but in CS I just really enjoy seeing well-detailed and pretty interchanges with lots of flowing traffic.

Also these kinds of huge conversion projects are the worst ones to do lol, having to rip out all your work and redo it sucks, but the end product is totally worth it!

I don't understand people who say that there are too many roads, in real cities it is, autostrads leading to huge cities and there are smaller cities in the vicinity. and also cities skylines is not only a game for building cities but also for bulding roads, but the change is very good.

I remember doing something similar a couple years ago:
Download a cool but (as much as possible) vanilla city from workshop✅
Start replacing highways or narrowing them down, adding houses and so on. ✅
Making a whole bunch of trams and trolleybuses instead of busses. ✅
Finding happiness in life ❌

What a transformation! Visually the area looks much calmer and more personable, yet you apparently maintained all your highway connections. Did you notice any changes to traffic flow?
