Hey all! Something a bit different today, as I don't think I've even done a tutorial for U2. Classic U2 that is, when they were still cool, haha. Say what you will about the band, but those first 5 or 6 albums were fantastic. Especially the album War that this track stems from.

Hope you enjoy the tutorial.

Cheers, KDA

U2 was huge in their day. A reporter in the Himalayas doing a story on the Buddhists said he was talking to a monk who had on a U2 tshirt under his robe. 😎

Nicely taught KDA! A lesson on New Year’s Day would be awesome as well, one of my favorites from that era and well beyond I reckon.

For what it’s worth, the War album is still a hell of a good listen all these years later, to me it doesn’t feel stuck in the 80s…. Just good music.

Wicked! Surprised to learn U2 had a streak in 'em. You, no doubt, guitar man. Wish I guitar man too. Thanks for the immense amount of material you place before us. You're, at least, a lightyear ahead of me conservatively speaking. 11:20

I think this song was the first one I ever heard from U2 back in the day. Then of course, all hell broke loose with the release of that Joshua Tree thing 🙂

Great work mate! Nice tone also, any chance you can mention what effects, drive, delay I hear?

A buddy and I went to Harpo’s in Detroit in April 1981. We saw a band with a unique sound called U2. Who would have thought?

80s U2 really captured the mood of its generation. The “Troubles”, Cold War, Apartheid…almost feels quaint by today’s standards. On a lighter topic, what chronograph watch do you often wear?

I thought U2 was great up through Joshua Tree and also the Achtung Baby album. After that they lost my interest. Great concert band, though. Saw them 4 times up through Achtung Baby.
