That's one of the first recognizable riffs I ever learned watching the music video. I still play it pretty much every time I pick up the guitar. I was shocked when I bought the War cd and discovered the studio version had electric violin!

An easy way to play this one is to keep the d chord shape and use your pinky to play the b. Instead of changing chord shapes you just lift your fingers.

“Red Rocks not included”, what a SICK line!! If you’ve never been, you NEED to put Red Rocks on your “bucket list”💯 I live in SoCal and have made the 15 hr drive there and seen shows at least 10 times (mostly Reggae on the Rocks, plus Damian Marley with Ben Harper among others)!!
Willie Nelson, who’s obviously played all over the world, said Red Rocks is hands down his favorite venue.
Check the web for pictures and vids. It will hopefully give you a decent idea of the venue, but until you’ve been there yourself…..
