Kreese truly cared for his kids, Johnny and Tory, even if it sometimes never seemed that way. I'm glad he apologized and made it up to them before he died! His redemption arc was extremely good this Season! RIP Kreese, you will be remembered! Cobra Kai Never Dies!

I like how right before going out Kreese had to make things right with Tory. He had a soft spot for her and Johnny.

Kreese was always a kind guy back when he was in the army. PTSD made him go astray but he redeemed himself and he trained the 2 champions.

Right there, he was basically telling her he couldn’t be in her corner, because he was going off to die, in order to protect his other kid: Johnny and his family. What great writing, which we would find out his reasoning at the end of the series.

Betsy's death sent Kreese onto the dark path, and Kwon's death brought him back to the light. It's sad that a boy had to die to make him reevaluate things, but at least he was able to make peace with those he hurt (and possibly save more lives) in the end.

His smile when he turns around was a callback to when he said a similar thing to Johnny in season 2. Only when Johnny called him back, he hid his smile because his manipulation had worked.
In this case, he shows his smile to Tory because he was just happy that someone still liked him. No mind games this time.
