It's actually quite the opposite. Yes, drinking ice water does burn calories in the short term, as the body struggles to return to homeostasis. However, over the long term, drinking very cold water creates imbalances that can ultimately result in weight gain. You see according to Ayurveda, Consuming ice water dampens the digestive fire, or agni. Agni’s job is to process everything you take in through the senses—and that includes food and beverages. Typically, the body has a base temperature of 98.6 degrees. When you toss back a glass of ice water with a temperature of 33 degrees, the energy expenditure required to kick the heat back up to 98.6 is substantial. Consuming ice water is similar to tossing water on a camp fire: Damp smoke is released and the fire dies down. The smoke can be an analogy for poorly digested and assimilated food. With the fire damped down, what we consume can become toxins that clog up our channels and make us feel subpar.
Hot water increases the digestive fire (like increases like), resulting in a better breakdown and assimilation of everything we consume. Strong, supported agni will prevent food from being stored as fat, toxins, or fermented gaseousness in the gut. So have hot, warm or room temp water for better effect.

Drinking cold water is VERY GOOD, it temporarily boosts ur metabolism so if ur gonna drink before or after training, water is the best option because ur body would have to work for it to get the water to ur body temperature level.

Now let’s get into food it’s been proven honey, Tea, and coffee helps burn calories. Spicy food and citrus food speeds up your metabolism aswell the list goes on drinking anything hot will speed up your metabolism aswell but to but faster. Because like he said your body has to put in the work to lower or rise the temperature of whatever you’re consuming. But your metabolism needs to be stimulated by movement in order for you to see the effects.

Guys drink green tea instead it helps a lot and the hot water helps break down the food a lot better so therefore better digestion (metabolism) idk if it boosts it but just recommend green or peppermint

I doubt this. 😅 i have fast metabolism and I don't drink cold water. Because it's slows down the digestion, and makes me feel like having indigestion.
what I actually notice that keeps my metabolism fast is lack of sleep and walking and standing. I hate sitting for long hours. I use to stand and walk. I sleep 4-6hrs only. I can gain in a week. I can loose it in a week 😂

Soooo, im actually looking for the total opposite, lol. I desperately need to start gaining weight! My whole life me and my family have only eaten once a day. We are all on the skinnier side. We are not poor and we can afford to eat, thats not the problem. The problem is, is that it makes us really tired after eating. Like, ill wake up and feel refreshed. Eat breakfast and im immediately exhausted like people are after theyve just eaten a Thanskgiving dinner. But also if I eat breakfast, not only am i exhausted but i am STARVING within 3-4 hours. Then if i eat lunch im tired again. However, if i dont eat breakfast or eat anything during the day, im totally fine. Energetic, sharp mind, im not "hangry" or anything like that. Now, my parents usually eat around dinner time. I eat around that time too sometimes, but i usually eat right before i go to bed because it does make me tired. But, idk what to do. Im a 6' 34 year old male who weighs roughly between 140-150lbs consistently. Its usually more in the middle 140's like 143ish-146ish. But i was never able to gain weight and i don't really lose it. Im never below 140 and never above 150. Idk what to do or where to start because I HAVE to start gaining a little bit of weight and eating more. Only problems with eating are that i don't ever gain weight anyways from eating and i always become extremely exhausted after eating. Soo, i just feel like eating isnt worth it if im not gaining weight because it just makes me tired. But idkk. If i can find a vitamin that will help me eat more and will help me gain weight, then i should be okay. But idk anything at all about vitamins or what theyre for or what they do.. can anyone help me or point me in the right direction, please?!? 🙏 🙏 🙏
