The Plug-It cord that comes with the TS55 is a heavier gauge cord and the smaller cords that come with the router, sander’s, etc will Not work, with the TS55. That said, the TS55 cord will work with the other tools. The end that the cord plugs into the saw, has different keying to prevent the smaller cords from being used. Congrats on your new saw, I have had and used all the different models of the TS55 during the last 20 odd years, and the new TS55 released recently is the best one yet, with better adjustments and the new thinner blade makes cleaner cuts.
Cheers

Congratulations on the Festool beautiful piece of machinery for sure! I personally went with the Makita about a year ago I’m mainly breaking down sheet goods and saved a few dollars! Another great video thanks for sharing!

Great video, thanks for sharing. Quick question as I’m trying to make a decision…is that 8/4 hard maple?

Donʻt forget, the adjustment stop also indicates the depth with the track under the saw! I use my TS55 while doing more precision work and a cordless Makita for everyday jobs, the Makita has features that the Festool does not. Both saws are great and prove their worth. Festool also has a track accessory kit(577157) with very useful items in it. Great video I am sure this saw will be a great asset to your Festool line up!

i'd like to hear your experience on cross cutting plywood when you realize you've only got a 55 inch rail and you have to position it exactly so that you have proper cutting into the beginning of the wood and out of the end while keeping the snuggers on the track at both ends. nobody seems to talk about this but it requires making some markings on your rail so you know where to position the track on the start side and where to position the saw on the rail to make the entire cut. only 7 inches longer than the actual plywood so you're not getting a full entry and exit as you might expect.

This was a very, very helpful video. Keep up the great work. I do have a question, in order to get better dust collection should I get a cover for where the saw blade loosening is done? It doesn’t come with a cover however without it the dust does go out of this opening. Do you know where to buy this cover?

Don't forget to true up your TS 55 to 90 degrees. Mine was close but not perfect. This does make a difference for glue-ups. Ask me how I know :/
